Ask. Ask? Ask!   Feminism and fandoms

On the plus side I’ve offloaded one task onto my mother, booked a couple of days off this week to do my Making Things, and have burnt a cd of music for someguyofficial to go in and test on their player tomorrow so yay, productivity

#wedding stuff

Emailed wedding venue yesterday with this that and the other, as haven’t heard from them properly for weeks.

Email this morning at ten to eight saying ‘I can confirm you will have all the information by close of play today’

Time now: ten past eight.

Either this woman has an incredibly long work day, or she’s full of shit

I don’t need feminism because I like it when a man opens the door for me to enter a room. And then leave it again. And enter. And leave. And… enter. No wait, leave, definitely leave. Wait, I mean enter…

lets talk about how the gender neutral wardrobe is boyish clothes because feminine clothes aren’t considered neutral

and it’s totally connected with the idea that men are the default

my partner tried to call me a sweetheart the other day but he misspelled it and I read it as “sweetbeard” and then I decided that this is what dwarf couples call each other

so, naturally, here are two dwarves on a date

ohmigosh queer dwarf ladies ♥

These are clearly the best kind of dwarf ladies in existence I approve of these dwarf ladies :D

apparently e.l. james called former child star mara wilson (matilda) a “sad fuck” for critiquing the 50shades books a while ago and now there’s a feud. i love it.

I love you Mara.

OMG

Is anyone really surprised that Matilda grew up to be the kind of woman who knows where to read good erotica?

So sick of ppl talkin about how minority social spheres only “make segregation worse” by “isolating themselves” like how about u just admit that it makes u uncomfortable that minority ppl can organize outside of ur chaperoning and are perfectly happy not being tokenized

"Your voice sounds completely different in different languages. It alters your personality somehow. I don’t think people get the same feeling from you. The rhythm changes. Because the rhythm of the language is different, it changes your inner rhythm and that changes how you process everything.

When I hear myself speak French, I look at myself differently. Certain aspects will feel closer to the way I feel or the way I am and others won’t. I like that—to tour different sides of yourself. I often find when looking at people who are comfortable in many languages, they’re more comfortable talking about emotional stuff in a certain language or political stuff in another and that’s really interesting, how people relate to those languages."
